Services

Outsourced HR

For small to medium businesses, it is not always cost effective to have a full-time HR person on staff.  The salary you are able to pay may not get you the person with the appropriate level of expertise you need. A business with limited or infrequent HR needs still requires an HR expert capable of handling complex issues.

If your business doesn't have the internal resources to develop, implement, and maintain the HR processes necessary to ensure compliance with frequently changing employment laws and industry best practices, consider outsourcing your HR needs. The sooner your issues are addressed, the sooner you can stop worrying about the basics and move on to strategically planning next steps.

Handbooks and Compliance

We create employee handbook that provide standardization of key policies, preventing misunderstandings, complaints and job dissatisfaction. All of our handbooks are customized to represent your company's mission, vision and culture. Items included but not limited to:

  • Standards of Conduct

  • Anti-Discrimination Policies

  • Non-Disclosure Agreements & Conflict of Interest Statements

  • Compensation

  • Workplace Safety and Security

  • Employee Benefits

  • Leave Policies

  • Complaints

Handbooks help your business comply with federal as well as state employment laws and can be a beneficial legal defense against an employee lawsuit. They help companies take a stand on issues like discrimination, harassment etc., and provide information on how to report any violations regarding such issues.

Culture and Employee Engagement

Employee engagement is defined as the degree to which employees are motivated by, passionate about and invested in the work they do. Engagement also indicates the individual’s commitment to the company and their emotional connection to the people they work with.

A successful engagement strategy warrants thoughtful planning. Don’t let that deter you; a highly engaged workforce will boost your organization’s profitability, productivity, and retention.

We can implement a plan that includes:

  • Modeling your core values and mission

  • Prioritizing mental and physical health and work -life balance

  • Providing mechanisms for frequent and honest feedback

  • Recognizing and rewarding top performers

  • Conducting engagement surveys

To remain competitive, companies must offer a rich set of benefits to attract and retain the best employees. In addition to standard benefits like medical and dental coverage, you might also want to offer expanded services such as life insurance, FSA accounts, disability benefits etc.

Performance Management

Performance management is a corporate management tool that helps managers monitor and evaluate employees' work. Performance management's goal is to create an environment where people can perform to the best of their abilities and produce the highest-quality work most efficiently and effectively.

We assist managers and employees to see "eye-to-eye" about expectations, goals, and career progress, including how an individual's work aligns with the company's overall vision.

We design programs or recommend technology that looks forward not backward and fosters productive environments for communication.

HR - Skill Enhancement

When a valued employee has skills and knowledge that haven't kept pace with the times, we can help them acquire ways to become and stay current on important issues. We serve as experts they can consult and be provided with context to help them sharpen critical thinking.

For your HR staff, we can:

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise

  • Teach HR staff how to "own" the position they have

  • Align HR staff career objectives with organizational goals

  • Help HR staff navigate organizational behaviors

  • Strengthen interpersonal skills and peer relationships

  • Cultivate leadership potential and aid in learning and development

  • Help, mentor or augment your existing HR staff whether it involves retraining existing employees, resolving internal conflicts, or a complete restructuring.

We can fix or augment a struggling department and leave you with a team that effectively supports your business.

Assessments/Audits

An HR Assessment is a diagnostic tool for your company. Hiring an external HR expert ensures you get an independent opinion free from internal bias.

We examine your HR processes, documentation, systems, benefits, and current practices. We compare your company to known best practices and any industry specific practices we see in similar companies so that you can stay competitive in your field.

The deliverable is a report that tells you where your strengths and weaknesses are, what areas need to be addressed in the short term, and where you have areas that represent risk.

It's a short and long-term roadmap to success

  • Set-up the systems to meet immediate needs and lay out a plan for future optimization

  • Act as an external configuration and if needed implementation expert. A second eye to ensure that all areas are completed, tested, and audited before signing off on the project.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

It has become imperative for companies across every industry to launch DEI initiatives to create a welcoming and inclusive workplace.

The culture of a team is the responsibility of both the managers and the employees of the organization. We work with you to better understand the current workplace culture and provide you with expert level thought leadership aimed at working with your group to uncover where inequities exist. We then provide you with the tools to ensure that you maintain a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce.

By placing a strong focus on DEI, you can send a powerful message about your organization's priorities, which often creates a positive reaction among employees and candidates.

We can:

  • Identify factors that shape identity and culture, including race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation/identity, age, physical abilities/qualities, and neurodiversity, and

  • Propose talent development strategies to sustain a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

Compensation

Companies need a thoughtful compensation program to remain competitive within their industry and to attract and retain top talent.

We assist in designing compensation plans that encompass all of the components of a company’s compensation strategy – including direct compensation (salary, hourly, commission and bonuses payments) and indirect compensation, such as benefits, equity-based programs, and perks.

A strategically designed compensation philosophy that is kept current, relevant and in accordance with employment laws, supports several important components of your business and:

  • Attracts qualified candidates to join your organization

  • Supports retention of the company’s top talent

  • Serves as a strong motivator for employees to perform at high levels and exceed goals

  • Helps keep your business competitive in the marketplace.

Coaching/ Mentoring

Whether you’re a future-leader, mid-level manager, or a senior executive, we strongly believe that everyone can benefit from coaching.

Coaching is defined as a partnership in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires individuals to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Although different in approach, “mentoring” and “coaching” both share specific goals including employee learning and career development that leads to peak performance, and the realization of full potential.

A coach provides a safe, structured, and trustworthy environment in which to offer support for the individual. The coach also helps the employee understand their current competencies, see how they’re perceived by others, and focus on identifying and clarifying current goals as well as the appropriate action steps to reach those goals.

Investigations

Various situations can arise in the workplace including alleged discrimination or harassment, workplace bullying or abuse, inappropriate use of the Internet or social media, theft of company property, fraud, policy breaches – just to name a few. Any of these can trigger the need for an investigation. The increasing complexity of these situations, and the risk of not handling them properly, can have serious repercussions for even the most sophisticated businesses.

LCG frequently conducts internal investigations regarding allegations of serious employee misconduct, whether those complaints are made to the company through its human resources, employee relations or general counsel’s office or through anonymous hotlines or messages.

We conduct thorough investigations in a discreet, disarming and tactful manner, resulting in unbiased fact finding. This often includes coordinating the collection and review of various documents, conducting witness interviews, and drafting an investigation report.
